Methods Used: User Interviews

I have conducted interviews for three user groups and here are few user frustrations I found.

  1. Delays in score updates: The biggest issue I face is that the app often fails to provide real-time score updates, causing me to miss key moments in the game.

  2. Slow loading times: The app takes too long to load, making it difficult to quickly access the information I need.

  3. Poor User Experience: The design of the app is cluttered and confusing, making it difficult to navigate and find the information I need.

  4. Unreliable notifications: The notifications I receive are often delayed or missing, causing me to miss important updates.

  5. Crashes and errors: The app crashes frequently, especially during periods of high traffic, causing me to miss important updates and affecting my overall experience.

  6. Limited coverage: The app only covers a limited number of leagues and tournaments, and doesn't provide the same level of coverage as some of the other cricket score apps.

Ideation

Methods Used: Brainstorming & Crazy Eight

I started ideation by mapping out the user journey and identifying pain points and areas of improvement. Also researching the market and competitive landscape to see what other cricket score apps are doing well. Moreover, considering using new technologies such as machine learning and data analytics to provide more

in-depth analysis and statistics.

Prototyping

High Fidelity Wireframes/Mockups

As a next step in the UX design process, building high-fidelity mockups can help bring the proposed design to life and provide a more detailed representation of the final product. These mockups should accurately reflect the visual design and interaction flow, allowing for a more thorough evaluation and testing of the design. I've created High fidelity mockups and made a prototype for the users to do the usability testing.

Testing

Methods Used: Usability Testing

Study type : Unmoderated Study

The usability testing will include a total of 10 participants, 5 male and 5 female, ranging in age from 25-40.

Participants are included of both avid and casual cricket fans, with varying levels of experience using cricket score apps.
Length: Research study will last for 90 minutes with a questionnaire.

Findings / Insights

1. App Navigation and User Interface have to be reconsidered.

2. Based on the users suggestions, an insight is that, the scorecard to be clear and simple even on the card view and detailed view.

3. Based on the users suggestions, user wants to listen the score when multitasking instead of viewing the score.

Final Mockups

Based on the Insights above, I have made iterations for the

final usable experience of CricVibe application.

In conclusion, the design process for CricVibe app involved a thorough and iterative approach to ensure that the final product meets the needs of both the team and the target audience. This process started with empathy and collaboration, followed by ideation and user research, and culminated in the creation of high-fidelity mockups.

Through each step, I was able to evaluate and refine the design based on feedback, testing, and user insights.

The end result of this process should be a well-designed app that is intuitive, user-friendly, and provides a positive experience for the users. This can be achieved through a thorough understanding of the users' needs and the use of best practices in UX design, such as creating a clear onboarding process and incorporating interactive elements. By putting the users first and continuously iterating on the design, I can ensure that the final product meets the needs of the target audience and provides a valuable solution.
